Electric Vehicle Charging Stations in Cambodia

Cambodia’s electric vehicle (EV) charging network continues to expand, with 234 authorized EV charging stations providing 421 charging outlets/plugs across the country as of September 2026.

The distribution of charging infrastructure covers 21 provinces and Phnom Penh, providing EV users with charging access across major cities, tourism destinations, and provincial areas.

Phnom Penh Accounts for the Largest Share

Phnom Penh has by far the largest EV charging network in Cambodia, with 84 authorized stations and 163 charging outlets. This represents the highest concentration of charging infrastructure in the country, reflecting the capital’s large population, higher vehicle density, and growing demand for electric mobility.

Outside Phnom Penh, Siem Reap has the second-largest network, with 23 stations and 43 outlets, followed by Pursat, with 22 stations and 36 outlets.

Other provinces with notable charging infrastructure include:

Province / Region Stations Outlets / Plugs
Phnom Penh 84 163
Siem Reap 23 43
Pursat 22 36
Preah Sihanouk 16 28
Kampong Chhnang 10 16

EV Infrastructure Extends Beyond Major Cities

The data shows that EV charging infrastructure is not limited to Cambodia’s largest urban centers. Stations are also available in provinces across different parts of the country.

Tourism destinations such as Siem Reap, Preah Sihanouk, Kampot, Kep, and Koh Kong have established charging facilities, while provinces along major transportation routes—including Battambang, Banteay Meanchey, Kampong Cham, Svay Rieng, and Takeo—also have authorized stations.

This geographic expansion is important as EV adoption grows because drivers require charging options not only for daily urban travel but also when travelling between provinces.

421 Charging Outlets Across the Country

While the network includes 234 stations, the total number of charging outlets or plugs is higher at 421. This means that some charging stations provide multiple outlets, allowing more than one vehicle to potentially access charging infrastructure at a location.

The figures highlight an important distinction between the number of charging locations and the number of available charging outlets when assessing Cambodia’s EV infrastructure.

Supporting Cambodia’s Transition to Electric Mobility

The expansion of authorized charging stations provides an important foundation for the continued adoption of electric vehicles in Cambodia. As more consumers and businesses consider EVs, the availability of charging infrastructure can play a key role in making electric mobility more practical for everyday use and interprovincial travel.

With 234 authorized charging stations and 421 outlets/plugs as of September 2026, Cambodia’s EV charging network is becoming increasingly distributed across the country.
