The milestone also highlights the importance of continued investment in agricultural productivity, rice quality, processing, logistics, and international market access to strengthen Cambodia’s competitiveness in the global rice trade.

A Promising Achievement for Cambodia’s Rice Industry

Reaching more than one million tonnes in official rice exports before the end of 2026 is a significant achievement for Cambodia. It reflects the progress of the rice industry and offers encouragement for farmers, exporters, and other stakeholders working to develop the country’s agricultural potential.

As Cambodia continues to strengthen its agricultural sector, sustaining this momentum and expanding access to international markets will be important for supporting long-term growth and improving the livelihoods of farming communities.
